Pest Control and Exterminator Service in Whitemarsh Township, PA

Farm fields, quarries and the Wissahickon Creek valley give Whitemarsh Township more open land than most places this close to Philadelphia, and that land sends ticks, mosquitoes and mice into nearby yards. No Bugs Exterminator serves Lafayette Hill, Barren Hill, Spring Mill and every other corner of Whitemarsh from our Media base, a trip of about 35 minutes (19 miles). We handle termites in older houses and outdoor pests on wooded lots, always opening with a no-charge look at the property and a quote you can review on paper.

Wissahickon Floodplain, Erdenheim Farm Fields and 1970s Colonials

Whitemarsh homes have a 1973 median build year and about 26 percent renters, per Census (ACS) estimates. Older stone homes in Lafayette Hill and fifty-year-old colonials both show termite and carpenter ant damage.

Erdenheim Farm and Fort Washington State Park keep deer, ticks and field mice close to homes, while low creek ground holds mosquito water.

Housing here spans more than two centuries. Fieldstone farmhouses and nineteenth-century stone homes along Germantown and Bethlehem pikes sit beside mid-century ranches and 1970s and 1980s colonials on wooded lots. The oldest houses have rubble foundations with soft mortar and framing set directly on stone, which lets termites and mice reach the floor system with little resistance, while newer homes add finished basements and decks that hide early termite work.

Active and former limestone quarries along the township's southern side leave large undeveloped edges where rodents and wildlife live close to neighborhoods. Add the Wissahickon corridor and the Schuylkill riverbank at Spring Mill and Miquon, and there is a lot of shaded, moist ground where carpenter ants, camel crickets and mosquitoes do well and hornets hang nests by late summer.

Bordering Flourtown, Plymouth Meeting and Wyndmoor

Whitemarsh borders Flourtown and Plymouth Meeting, and the Wissahickon Creek runs south from here into Philadelphia. About 20,000 people live in the township, and its students attend the Colonial School District, which Whitemarsh shares with Plymouth Township and Conshohocken. Lafayette Hill grew from the village once called Barren Hill, where Lafayette's troops slipped away from the British in 1778, and Hope Lodge and St. Thomas' Church Whitemarsh stand along Bethlehem Pike near Fort Washington State Park and Militia Hill. Ridge Pike and Germantown Pike carry traffic toward Conshohocken and Plymouth Meeting, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike passes just north. Because so many homes back onto parkland, farm fields, quarry edges or creek valleys, most of our Whitemarsh work sits at that boundary: ticks, hornets and mosquitoes in summer, mice and voles in fall, and termites in the older stone houses.

Questions from Whitemarsh Township homeowners

Are ticks worse near Fort Washington State Park and Erdenheim Farm?

Generally, yes. Big tracts of field and forest support deer, which carry the blacklegged ticks that spread Lyme disease, a common diagnosis in Pennsylvania. Homes that back onto those areas see more ticks along the lawn edge. Treating that border, keeping grass short and blocking deer paths with fencing all reduce exposure.

Do you serve Lafayette Hill, Barren Hill and Spring Mill?

Yes. All three are part of Whitemarsh, and we cover them from Media on the same schedule. Lafayette Hill's older stone houses see more termites and mice, homes near Erdenheim Farm see more ticks, and Spring Mill along the Schuylkill deals with river moisture. Each visit starts with a free inspection.
