Pest Control and Exterminator Service in East Coventry Township, PA

Parker Ford and the rest of East Coventry Township look across the Schuylkill at Limerick's cooling towers, and the river shapes pest problems here more than the houses do. No Bugs Exterminator provides pest control in East Coventry Township, PA, but at about 50 minutes (30 miles) from our Media base it is a longer drive, so we book visits in advance. Low, damp river ground keeps mosquitoes, field mice and ticks close to mostly owner-occupied homes from the late 1980s.

Schuylkill Floodplain Lots Near Parker Ford

Census (ACS) figures give a 1988 median build year and about 14% renters. Decks, garage sills and door seals on houses that age are where termites and mice get in. Owners stay put in most of these homes, so problems we find tend to be ones that have built up quietly over several seasons rather than arrived with a move.

Hedgerows and wooded stream corridors between subdivisions hold ticks, and river backwaters hatch mosquitoes into September. Wet springs on the floodplain also push odorous house ants indoors in long trails along kitchen counters.

Many late-1980s homes here were built with wood decks, cedar or plywood panel siding and trim boards close to the soil. Those materials soften as they weather, and carpenter bees, carpenter ants and termites all find them. When river fog and humid August nights keep siding damp for days, the lowest boards along the foundation start to rot first.

Away from the river, much of the township is still open fields, horse properties and woodlots, so field mice, voles and deer live right next to cul-de-sacs. Large sycamores and silver maples along the riverbank shade back yards that slope toward the water, and that shade lets mosquitoes rest close to the house all day.

Upriver from Spring City, Across from Limerick

The township borders East Vincent Township and North Coventry Township, and Pottstown is a short drive west. The Limerick Generating Station stands across the river in Montgomery County. Parker Ford takes its name from an old Schuylkill crossing, and Route 724 follows the river through the village toward Spring City and Pottstown. The Schuylkill River Trail runs along the Chester County bank here, so many back yards sit a short walk from the trail and its wooded floodplain. Children in the township attend the Owen J. Roberts School District, whose public schools follow integrated pest management plans under Pennsylvania's Act 35 of 2002. Shopping and restaurants cluster across the line around Coventry Mall and Route 100 in North Coventry. The calls we get from East Coventry follow the river: mosquitoes and ticks from spring into fall, carpenter bees and ants in weathered wood, and mice in garages from October.

Questions from East Coventry Township homeowners

Is East Coventry too far out for No Bugs Exterminator?

No. At about 30 miles, roughly 50 minutes from our Media office, it is farther than our Delaware County routes, so we book East Coventry appointments ahead and group nearby calls. You still get a free inspection and a written quote before any treatment begins.

Why are mosquitoes so heavy near Parker Ford?

Mostly because of the river. Floodplain pools, ditches and wooded banks along the Schuylkill hold water long after storms, and mosquitoes breed there from late spring. We treat the shrubs and fence lines where adults rest and point out spots on your lot that hold water.
