Pest Control and Exterminator Service in Upper Merion Township, PA

From Gulph Mills to the riverside streets of Swedesburg, Upper Merion Township is more than its mall district, and No Bugs Exterminator covers every part of it, driving roughly 30 minutes (15 miles) north from our Media office. The township wraps around the eastern side of Valley Forge National Historical Park, so meadow and woodland pests press against neighborhoods every season, while garden apartments and townhome rows face the problems that come with shared walls, attics and trash rooms. Every job opens with a free inspection.

1970s Split-Levels and Garden Apartments Beside the Valley Forge Meadows

Census (ACS) data puts the typical home at 1977, with about 45 percent of households renting. In split-levels, townhomes and garden apartments, one unit's roaches can become a building issue.

Park meadows feed field mice that move indoors in October, and sunny siding draws stink bugs. The state spotted lanternfly quarantine covers Montgomery County too.

Much of the township filled in between the 1950s and the 1980s as the turnpike and Route 202 brought growth. Split-levels and ranches from that era pair a basement or crawlspace with a slab family room and attached garage, and the joint where slab meets foundation is a classic termite entry. Original windows, settled garage slabs and dryer vents without working flaps give mice several ways in once the meadows are mowed.

Gulph Creek cuts a steep, shaded ravine through Gulph Mills, and the Schuylkill shoreline at Swedesburg and Swedeland leaves low, damp ground behind the river-facing streets. Both keep mosquitoes, carpenter ants and camel crickets busy through summer, and the older brick and stone houses closest to the river add soft mortar joints where rats can dig in.

Where the Township Meets King of Prussia and Wayne

King of Prussia has its own page because its hotels and apartment density need a different approach. Across the river, Bridgeport shares the same riverfront rodent pressure as Swedesburg. About 35,000 people live in Upper Merion, and its students attend the Upper Merion Area School District, which also serves Bridgeport and West Conshohocken. Hanging Rock, the boulder that leans over Gulph Road beside Gulph Creek, is the best-known landmark in Gulph Mills, and the township's river frontage runs from Swedesburg past Swedeland. The Pennsylvania Turnpike, I-76 and Route 202 all meet here, so office parks, distribution buildings and restaurants sit a short drive from quiet subdivisions. That mix gives us two kinds of work in the same township: mice, ticks and lanternflies on homes bordering the park, and scheduled commercial service along the highway corridors.

Questions from Upper Merion Township homeowners

When do stink bugs and spotted lanternflies show up in Upper Merion?

Lanternfly adults gather on trees and decks from late summer, while stink bugs push indoors on warm October afternoons, and both are worse near the park's open ground. We treat exterior entry points before the fall rush and seal gaps around windows and siding.

Is King of Prussia covered on this page or its own?

King of Prussia has its own page because its hotels, mall and large apartment complexes bring different pest pressure. This page covers the rest of the township, including Gulph Mills, Swedesburg and neighborhoods along the eastern edge of Valley Forge park.
