Pest Control and Exterminator Service in Morrisville, PA

Stand on the Morrisville bank of the Delaware and Trenton is right across the water, close enough to read the famous slogan on the bridge. That closeness to the river and the city shapes this borough. No Bugs Exterminator serves Morrisville from Media, though at about 75 minutes (49 miles) it's one of our longer drives, so we schedule visits in advance. Mid-century homes, river-edge mosquitoes and a 35% renter share keep mice and bed bugs on the list too.

1955 Capes, the Delaware Canal and River Flats

By Census (ACS) estimates Morrisville's median home dates to 1955. Post-war capes and ranches have settled enough to open gaps at sill plates, garage corners and utility lines, the routes mice and termites use.

The Delaware Canal and the river's low ground hold water through the warm months, so yards near the water see mosquitoes longer than homes on higher streets.

Morrisville sits at the Falls of the Delaware, the rocky stretch where the river drops and the tide stops, so the riverfront here is a mix of rapids, backwater pools and flood plain. Low streets nearest the water have flood history, and soil there stays saturated after high water, which favors termites and pushes rats and mice toward higher, drier basements. The Delaware Canal adds a slow, shaded channel through town where mosquito larvae survive in leaf-choked edges.

The post-war capes and ranches that make up much of the borough were built quickly with block foundations, wood sills and small crawlspaces under additions. Seventy years of freeze and thaw have opened mortar joints and loosened basement window frames. With about a third of households renting, apartments and converted duplexes see regular move-ins, and German cockroaches and bed bugs often arrive in boxes and secondhand furniture rather than from outdoors.

Summerseat, the Canal and Falls Township

Morrisville is home to Summerseat, a house George Washington used as a headquarters in December 1776. The borough borders Falls Township and Lower Makefield Township, and we also serve Yardley upriver. Three bridges link the borough to Trenton: the Lower Trenton Bridge with its well-known lettering, the narrow Calhoun Street Bridge and the US 1 toll bridge. US 1 then carries traffic west through the borough toward Lower Makefield and Langhorne. The town takes its name from Robert Morris, the Revolutionary-era financier, and its children attend the Morrisville School District. Amtrak's Northeast Corridor crosses the river here on its way to Trenton station. Because the borough mixes river-edge streets, mid-century homes and a sizable rental stock in a small footprint, the calls we expect are mosquito treatment near the canal, rodent sealing in older basements, termite checks on 1950s sills and bed bug or roach work in shared buildings.

Questions from Morrisville homeowners

Why do Morrisville yards near the canal get so many mosquitoes?

The canal and the river's low ground keep water standing in ditches, drains and shady corners all summer, and some species need only a bottle cap of water to breed. Emptying containers helps. For yards that stay buggy, a mosquito yard treatment on shrubs and shaded resting spots cuts bites between visits.

Is Morrisville too far for you to handle a mouse problem?

No, it just takes planning. At about 75 minutes from Media, Morrisville visits are booked ahead, and mouse work suits that because it's a sealing-and-follow-up job, not a one-hour fix. We seal entry points on the first visit, set traps and return on a scheduled day to check them.
